Yusen Logistics (Benelux) B.V. expands its presence in Belgium
Yusen Logistics expands its pharmaceutical logistics service capabilities through the acquisition of Groupe Pierre. A leading logistic provider in the healthcare sector, Groupe Pierre is comprised of three divisions: Ajimex, Transports Pierre and Pierre Logistic.
ANTWERP: Yusen Logistics has reached an agreement to acquire the entire share capital of Groupe Pierre. From its primary Wavre site base in the Walloon Brabant region of Belgium, Groupe Pierre has proven itself to be a specialist in pharmaceutical supply chain logistics, fulfilling a wide range of services to the complex needs of the healthcare sector. Groupe Pierre’s integrated solutions include:
- Transports Pierre: GDP certified land transportation.
- Pierre Logistic: Warehousing and associated value-added services
- Ajimex: Global time critical, temperature-controlled shipment management, including all associated packaging services.
Since Groupe Pierre’s foundation in 1924 as ‘Transports Alphonse Pierre’, the company has significantly expanded its geographic presence, product, and service portfolio. Today, Groupe Pierre’s 125 plus employees operate over 20.000m² of warehouse space and 160 vehicles, which include express to tractor & trailer combination vehicles.
The acquisition of Groupe Pierre will strengthen and enhance Yusen Logistics’ growing capabilities and service offerings as a leading integrated logistics company, which provides local to regional to global end-to-end environmentally sustainable supply chain solutions for the Healthcare sector.
